The Empire Strikes Back Star Wars Empire Strikes Back Star Wars Episode 5 Five Episodes v 5th Fifth The Empire Strikes Back Muppet Yoda Slow Moving Puppet Yoda Frozen in Time Muppets Crap Garbage Lame Puppets Terrible Awful

15. Why can't the muppet Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back move with spectacular ferocity like the Yoda showcased in the mind stunning Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones and the spellbinding Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith?

The problem with the muppet Yoda from Star Wars Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back is a complete lack of mobility. All muppet Yoda can do is slightly move and wave his hands, but muppet Yoda is basically unable to move. This means it is impossible for the muppet Yoda to be involved in complex action sequences.

Back in the late 1970's and early 1980's when Lucas was filming the ancient Star Wars movies, you had two choices for exotic extraterrestrial alien characters:

1. Dress a person up in an alien extraterrestrial mask and costume

2. Create a muppet that looked like a strange extraterrestrial alien creature

Of course to create Yoda, Lucas had to go the muppet route. Not even a real choice.

Some fans act like near photo realistic computer animation has always existed. It wasn't operational back when Lucas was producing the Star Wars classic films. Those old films had to rely on highly primitive technology, which couldn't achieve mesmerizing visuals. The muppet Yoda ruins The Empire Strikes Back because the muppet Yoda can't do anything. Literally no movement at all.

Lucas couldn't unlock the full potential of Yoda as a character until Lucas was able to animate the digital Yoda from Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones with sophisticated and expensive computer animation. The digital Yoda was able to move with spectacular ferocity as originally envisioned by ultra genius mastermind creator Lucas.

The muppet Yoda, which ruined the old films, would never appear in subsequent Star Wars movies in more than a brief cameo role. The computer animated Yoda was the bright future of film making and Lucasfilm in general. Thankfully, the muppet Yoda is no more.
